Faith vs. Science in Our Classrooms Program Guidebook

Keeping with Hadassah’s longstanding commitment to the separation of church and state, Faith vs. Science in Our Classrooms is a comprehensive guide on the preservation of scientific integrity at the grassroots level in light of rising efforts to teach creationism and related theories in public school science classrooms.

The intrusion of faith and religious ideology in public schools and its undermining of the teachings of scientific evolution is a pressing issue that affects communities all across the United States. It is critical that we spread awareness about this issue so that we can preserve science education and protect laws separating church and state.

Faith vs. Science in Our Classrooms will give you everything you need to know about so-called creation “science” and intelligent design, as well as the law, the Jewish interpretation and Hadassah’s stand on the teaching of religiously-fueled curricula. In addition, the guidebook provides instruction on how to educate and involve others on the faith versus science debate, including detailed recommendations for programming and advocacy opportunities. The guidebook also includes an extensive list of resources for keeping up to date on this cutting-edge topic.

The Promise of Stem Cells Guidebook on CD-Rom

Stem cell research holds the promise to treat and potentially cure many devastating diseases and conditions, such as diabetes, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Lou Gehrig’s disease, spinal cord injury, and multiple sclerosis – illnesses which affect over 100 million Americans.

As a world leader in stem cell research at our Goldyne Savad Institute of Gene Therapy in Israel, and as a leading advocate for stem cell research in the United States, Hadassah has a special interest in  advancing this research as quickly as possible.

The Promise of Stem Cells explores the topic of stem cell research from many perspectives: individual and communal needs, Jewish views, scientific, ethical and moral considerations, Hadassah’s scientific research, and the legislative challenges. This is an exciting exploration into one of today's most timely, cutting edge issues.
